The Indonesian delegations participating in the annual Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands ‘Carnaval International de Victoria’ will be represented by some of their most famous artists. SekarJepun Dancers from Badung Regent, Bali and Jessica Hudson, an Indonesian – ASEAN Award Singer will perform in the opening of the 2013 Carnaval International de Victoria in Seychelles.
The Indonesian representative, Mr.Nico Barito, has confirmed the participation of the Indonesian and ASEAN international performers will show to the world a well deserve performance from Victoria, the Capital of the Creole World that will capture all its audiences.
“We thank the Bupati of Badung Regent in Bali who had agreed to participate in the 2013 edition of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Carnival in Seychelles, especially as Bali will bring the signature dancer group SEKAR JEPUN”, said Mr.Barito.
The group has performed internationally and Sekar Jepun dance has been staged during the official opening of major international events and world class conferences in Bali. The performance has been admired by many Heads of State and dignities from all around the world.
Sekar Jepun dance remains an icon of Bali featuring Sekar Jepun, a flower that has many kinds of color and shape, which illustrate the people’s charm in welcoming guests from various countries. The sound of nature, gamelan music by Balinese composer will top up the mellowness of the dance. The essence of Sekar Jepun flower exists in many a paradise islands, well known as the frangipani flower which also exist in Seychelles.
The highlight of the traditional heritage culture dance from the Island of The Gods ‘Bali’ will be the presence of Jessica Hudson, an Indonesian ASEAN top award youth singer featuring a colourful icon of two faces to complements the spirit and creative of youth. This represent the symbol of togetherness of cultures between island nations within the Indian Ocean, and in the ASEAN inclusive of Seychelles and the world at large.
Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture has welcomed the arrival of the Indonesian delegation at the 2013 Indian Ocean Vanilla Island’s Carnival. ‘Victoria, the Capital of the Creole World is set to again play host to a carnival staged under the banner of the melting pot of cultures and we all remain eager to showcase togetherness with all those showcasing their own culture and people through this mid ocean equatorial carnival of carnivals’ Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles said.
