The world could be getting a fresh new look at the Jackson family after Janet has reportedly begun talks to take part in a revealing documentary. The songstress – famed for hits such as ‘Nasty’ and ‘What Have You Done For Me Lately’ – is said to be considering a 10-part series about her life on Netflix. While Janet is yet to sign on the dotted line, it’s thought that she’s open to the idea of welcoming cameras into her life.
A source told The Sun:
The show will run as a ten-part documentary and will feature recording sessions in the studio, co-parenting her child with Wissam and preparing for the European and Asian legs of her tour. Netflix is negotiating a big sum for the rights to the show as they expect it to perform well.
The move may seem strange considering that brother Michael famously regretted taking part in a similar venture back in 2003. The King of Pop was filmed for an in-depth documentary with Martin Bashir – titled Living With Michael Jackson – only to criticise the final outcome and the way in which he was portrayed. That said, sister La Toya enjoyed more success when she starred in her own Oprah Winfrey-produced reality series between 2013 and 2014.
Janet’s rumoured documentary comes just months after she welcomed her first child – and subsequently announced the end of her marriage to billionaire Wissam Al Mana. After numerous rocky relationships, Janet looked like she’d finally found love when she tied the knot in 2013. She later confirmed that the couple were expecting their first child in 2016. Janet, age 51, gave birth in January. The healthy baby boy was given the name Eissa Al Mana.
Unexpectedly, Janet would confirm that she and Wissam had split in May. In a video posted to her fans, she said:
I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second. Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.
Will Janet Jackson reveal all?
Time will tell whether Janet decides to go through with the documentary. However, it’s obvious that there’s plenty of interest in her personal life and professional career.
