Sources close to the family confirmed recently that the celebrity couple will be expecting another addition to the Kardashian West family, this time using a hired surrogate.
The couple, who married in 2014, are already parents to North, their daughter who was born in 2013, and son Saint, who Kim gave birth to in late 2015.
Kim Kardashian West has previously opened up about the complications she experienced during both her pregnancies, and in a blog post on her own website she reveals that she has suffered from a condition called placenta accreta, something the star describes as “a high-risk condition that happens when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall.”
Kardashian West has been open about her desires to have a third child on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” she says on the famous reality show. Kardashian West has spoken about her need to find a surrogate if the dream of having a third child was to become a reality after doctors tell her another pregnancy would be dangerous for her health and could result in severe complications.
Kardashian West becoming a victim of robbery during Paris Fashion Week last year only made her desires to grow her family greater, confessed the reality star.
“I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So now I want to explore surrogacy,”
Kardashian West told Kris Jenner, her mother and ‘momager’, on the latest season of the show. Her sister Khloe expressed interest in being Kim’s surrogate, however ultimately decided to focus on starting her own family with boyfriend, Tristan Thompson.
The identity of Kim and Kanye’s surrogate is still unknown, and will most likely remain under wraps for the duration of the pregnancy. It is reported however that the surrogate, who was found through an agency, will be paid around $45,000 for the surrogacy.
