Solange Knowles has allegedly been ‘banned’ from being in the delivery room when her sister Beyoncé gives birth. According to reports, the singer – famed for hits such as Sandcastle Disco, I Decided and Would’ve Been The One – has been warned that she’s not welcome when her older sibling welcomes twins later this year. So who’s enforcing this rule? None other than Jay-Z, apparently.

A source told Radar Online:

“He’s told Beyoncé these are his babies too and he wants to be there when they’re born, but he doesn’t want Solange ruining his big moment with some mean wisecrack at his expense.”

The insider added:

“Jay and Solange still have a tense relationship and he just doesn’t like being in the same room as her.”

The news is unexpected given that Solange and Beyoncé seemed to be closer than ever when they took part in a one-on-one together for Interview Magazine in January. When Beyoncé asked how she did as a big sister, Solange replied: “You did a kickass job. You were the most patient, loving, wonderful sister ever. In the 30 years that we’ve been together, I think we’ve only really, like, butted heads… we can count on one hand.”

Of course, Solange and brother-in-law Jay-Z don’t share the same harmonious relationship. In fact, the two even came to blows during an incident in a lift that was caught on video in 2014. At the time it was rumoured that Solange lashed out at Jay-Z after discovering that he had done the dirty on his wife.

Meanwhile, Solange’s own romantic life has been running rather smoothly since she married husband Alan Ferguson during a ceremony held in New Orleans in 2014. Funnily enough, Jay-Z was in attendance for the nuptials despite the fact that it was only a few months removed from his clash with Solange.

Will Solange stay away?

It’s thought that Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be welcoming their twins over the summer. Until then, the pair – along with Solange – are sure to be the talk of the town as people wonder if they really are one big happy family.
