Good nail care is an important part of your beauty care regimen because your nails are very visible. Here are some tips for taking care of your nails like a professional.

The Matte Look

You can get that sexy matte look out of your glossy polishes with a little steam. Boil some water before you apply the polish, and leave it boiling while you work. After you finish, while your nails are still wet, hold them 5 or 6 inches above the water, in the steam, for 3 or 4 seconds. This will give them that matte look.

Making Nail Stickers Last

Apply a coat of clear polish on top of your nail stickers. This will keep them from peeling and protect them from scrapes. It will also make them look like they are actually designs that have been professionally painted on.

How to Paint Small Nails

If your nails are small, then applying polish neatly and without making mistakes is probably difficult to do yourself. What you need to do is buy a tiny paintbrush at your local art supply store. Use it on your fingernail edges for clean, even lines without spillover.

You could also try spreading a little glue around the nails before painting them. That way, you won’t have to worry about spillover. After you finish, just peel off the glue, and your nails will look professionally done.

Removing Glitter Polish

Glittery polish can be a nightmare to remove. If you like using it, try using felt instead of cotton when you remove it. Felt is more abrasive, while still being gentle enough not to scuff your nail or irritate your skin. This will get the polish off much more quickly.

Drying Nail Polish Faster

If you need your polish to dry quickly, you can do it without buying expensive quick-dry products. All you need to do is soak your nails in ice water immediately after painting them. This will make them dry much faster.

Professional level nail care does not require you to spend a lot of money. All it takes is knowing the right tricks.
