The Central American nation of Nicaragua has launched a tourism campaign, under the slogan ‘siempre linda’, which translates as ‘beautiful as ever’.
The Nicaraguan ambassador to London, His Excellency Guisell Morales-Echaverry, alongside Minister of Tourism, Anasha Campbell-Lewis, launched the initiative on 11th March, at Zari Gallery, in Central London, United Kingdom.
The event was attended by dignitaries from several spheres of life: business people, travel industry executives, tour operators, and media. The London ambassadors of the Philippines, Honduras, and Cuba supported the event, as was Councillor Sunil Chopra, representing London Councils generally and Southwark Council in particular.
H.E. Guisell Morales-Echaverry, welcomed guests and thanked the attendees, especially members of the diplomatic corps. Anasha Campbell-Lewis, the Minister of Tourism, delivered a fine resume of what Nicaragua has to offer visitors and also launched the promotional video of the ‘siempre linda’ campaign.
During the reception, guests were able to sample exquisite Nicaraguan food, enjoy a taste of the country’s finest chocolates, and try a tipple of the nation’s delicious and exotic Flor De Caña rum.
Minister Campbell-Lewis recommended destinations in Nicaragua, including the colonial town of Granada, and the Pacific coastal town San Juan del Sur, on the country’s stunning western coast. For the more adventurous, a trip to Nicaragua could include hiking up volcanoes and through rainforests and kayaking on the beautiful lakes. Some may prefer a spot of surfing or zip-lining over the forest canopy?
For those with a discerning palate a trip along the ‘Coffee Route’ in the rural north, takes in coffee farms, with the chance to ride horses, go mountain biking, and get up close and personal with a huge range of wildlife species in their natural habitat.
H. E. Guisell Morales Echaverry opened his arms to visitors to Nicaragua, by explaining,
“We, Nicaraguans, all believe in the beauty of our country and that it has so many wonderful experiences to offer travellers, whatever kind of vacation you wish to enjoy.”
