As part of the European Week of sustainable development, the Island of Reunion Tourism (IRT) is a partner of the second edition of Vaniy festival , which runs until June 7, 2015 on the island. Between tradition and modernity, town planning and rurality, ethics and solidarity, this event highlights the richness and diversity of Reunion’s natural and cultural heritage .

La volonté du festival Vaniy est de valoriser et d’encourager le savoir-faire local et l’écotourisme à l’île de La Réunion. Durant onze jours, de nombreuses thématiques et activités sont abordées et proposées au grand public. L’objectif poursuivi : éveiller les consciences sur les problématiques liées à l’environnement et notamment à travers le programme Amwin Mi Lé (AML), véritable outil de sensibilisation populaire au développement durable.

Le festival Vaniy vient également contribuer à la préservation et à la valorisation des richesses naturelles de l’île de La Réunion, dont la biodiversité exceptionnelle lui vaut de faire partie des 34 hotspot de biodiversité mondiale.

Friday, June 5, 2015

  • 8:30 am: Chantier Nature River in Saint-Louis. Waste collection and urban awareness with students from Collège du Ruisseau, Civis and the urban cleaning environment department of Saint-Louis town hall.
  • 2 p.m . : Kozman Lagreg . Social and solidarity grocery project in private gardens. Development of solidarity gardens in the territories concerned.
  • 6 p.m .: Coconut scale at the Corn Mill in Saint-Louis. Kozman Filo led by the Reunionese philosophical circle, neighborhood associations and the cultural service of Saint-Louis (by reservation). Eco-hike at the Parc du Colosse in Saint-André, walking and garbage collection on the coast. Day of entertainment and stands.

From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Saint-Louis at the Lou Cachet Farm: workshop for making bread and farata, craft stalls
  • In Cilaos in Îlet Chico, information on organic farming in Les Hauts
  • In Entre-Deux, visit of the village

Sunday, June 7, 2015

  • 10 a.m .: Makes window in La Rivière-Saint-Louis, contemplation of the circuses. Sharing meal on the theme of organic fruits and vegetables from Reunion. Kozman Domoun on the common good. Dancing and musical atmosphere.
