On the way to the Indian Ocean final of TRACE Music Star. Who will be the winner Wati B in Reunion? The competition will take place in Reunion Island, on February 20, 2016 at the Stella Matutina Museum in Piton Saint-Leu.
Trace Music Star Wati B edition is the musical talent detection competition to discover the urban star of tomorrow.
TRACE Music Star is the first 100% digital casting in search of the next recruit of the WATI B Label alongside Maître Gims, Black M and The Shin Sekaï. Nearly 6,000 applications were registered, including more than five hundred in the Indian Ocean. The competition began on November 25, 2015 and participants had to register, film themselves or even uplode their video from their mobile phone, tablet or computer.
Launched by TRACE * TV, this event is organized in Reunion in partnership with Canalsat, Reunion of Regional Museums, Reunion Island Tourism and various local partners. A Trace Music Star team is currently staying in Reunion and will follow this first urban competition ever launched in France.
Nine candidates from the Indian Ocean including seven from Reunion Island and two others from Mayotte were shortlisted (alone or in duo) for the big competition. Who from Aline, Alice’One, Julie, Nesta, Flo Discret, Flow Lirikal, Nyx Lion, Enel and Annice, will reach the national grand final in Paris, next April? They will have to convince a jury composed of:
- Luciano (Komzot)
- Missty
- Shin Sekaï
- Dawala (founder of Wati B)
The jury’s choice counts for 50% as well as the public vote. The meetings on the Trace Music Star site were numerous, 300,000 votes have already been recorded in Reunion Island and Mayotte. To get to know the candidates better: http://re.tracemusicstar.fr/
The winner will win his ticket for the grand final, a week of coaching, meetings with the label’s teams and WATI B equipment. He will face the winner of the Antilles-Guyana and the 5 selected from metropolitan France to obtain the title of TRACE Music Star. A unique chance to join the WATI B team with the key to an artist contract with WATI B, the production and promotion of three titles and a first clip. Let us hope that a Creole sound, that a mixed music of the island of Reunion travels the world once more.
On Saturday, before going on stage, the finalists will be prepared and coached by producer Luciano Mabrouck at the Cité des Arts in Saint-Denis.
